Learner driver crushes examiner

She jumped out :wtf:

I sure hope she doesn't get a license anytime soon. She is not ready AT ALL

Who starts a car without pushing the clutch in first, making sure you have your handbrake on and in neutral? That's K53 ****, this is an additional license. Was this the first ever time the student drove anything? Because it sure sounds like it (or probably paid for her license instead of learning/getting tested)

No wonder they want re-tests every 5 years now

If she didn't understand the concept of pedals she wouldn't be taking the driving test, period. That's not the point. This was clearly a tragic accident.

I guess it's easy for people in retrospect to cry foul when they forget what a stressful experience your driver's test is. A friend of mine crashed her vehicle. I almost ran over a kid. People make mistakes in driving tests.

You also went for a Code 10?

:p

SA is a land full of shortcuts. This is not just racially based. The richest tannies in their 7 series beamers seldom even slow down at 4way stops in my old neighbourhood. And I cant think of anyone who doesn't speed or never passes on a solid barrier.

You must be pretty impressed with the Norwegian drivers license tests?

Man I wish SA was so focused on safety and made the test as long and as hard as possible. You had any luck yet with yours in Norway?

I commented about it a little higher up in this thread. But oddly enough, the Norwegian driving test was quite easy...since you do ALLL the prep work up front with registered driving schools who "pass" you on your modules and update the national road agency database with your progress...you even book your theory and practical test online. The theory test was the hardest...really hectic questions that make you think.

The actual practical test was a cake walk. You get a random question assigned to you by the system which you then answer or demonstrate e.g. checking all the lights / checking fluid levels / explaining tyre types and thread levels etc. my question was to calculate the maximum load capacity of the car I was driving if I had 3 passangers and 40kg of luggage in the back.

After that you just drive around a random assigned route, and they make you parallel park and alley dock and such in traffic...no yard tests. Afterwards when you get back they ask you what you think of your performance and if you can identify any mistakes you made and how you would handle it differently...that way you kinda redeem yourself if you made stuff ups, unless its completely illegal like driving over a red light or some such.

You're then put on probation for a year from when you receive your license and score double points for any offense, if you get more than 12 points in that first year your license is cancelled.

I just paid R40k for my code B license in Norway despite having my SA code B for 14 years. It included 20hrs of day driving, night driving, skid pad driving, open road driving and 1st aid training.

These shortcutting idiots can suck a dick.
