That is BS. Any decent payroll package can accommodate and do the calculations even before your last day.So now the story with HR is that I will only get paid next month because they have to cater for deductions....erm I dont have any f&*king deductions, no travel , no cell, no claims!
Whether they broke it up or not the tax would have been the same for the year...I got a sweet leave payout with my previous job this last month. They broke it into 2 payments, so the salary and the leave were taxed individually. Came out to about 1.5x a single month's salary which helped a lot with the baby. Plus my pro rated bonus was paid.
How they have always done things does not make it the correct or legal way that it should be done. They only reason why its continued is because no one was prepared to take them on or show them the correct and legal way to do it.Thansk @signates
So I called my cousin who is a lawyer and she echoed the exact same thing.I have sent a mail querying as to why I will not be paid on the 7th Jan according to the Labour law and I am still waiting for a response,but HR was very quick to give me cookie cut answers.
