Thanks for all the advice, I think I am going to take out of my 100watt bulbs and take it to eagle lighting and ask them to get me a brighter or equivalent LED bulb.

Then if it works I will replace all the bulbs, I think it's going to be a costly exercise since I have at least 50 straight of the bat that I want to replace.

Might have to do this in installments, 20 now, 20 next month's and 10 the month after or something like that.

50 fsuckn 100w old bulbs? yirre. how big is your house?

Hey hey.

I want to swap out all the lights in my house with LED bulbs ( 1 to save some electricity, 2 hoping it will be brighter than my current lights)

Okey so my question is what LED bulbs can replace 100watt traditional bulbs.

I am a light fanatic so I cannot use a lesser bright light.

I see these at takealot, but not sure if they are bright enough?

I bought these but the 14w version - extremely bright. very happy :)

Consider leaving your bedroom and bathroom as incandescent or halogen bulbs. LED & CFL lights that are overly prominent in the 400-500nm range (blue light) have been shown to affect sleep quality. It's the same idea as using f.lux on your computer at night to reduce blue light: By using warmer lights at night in & around the rooms you sleep in you reduce (if only negligibly) the adverse effects of too much blue light exposure.

Incandescent & halogen tend to be warmer & less concentrated on the blue light end of the spectrum:

Was never very satisfied with LED bulbs, but weirdly enough I was perfectly impressed with the 3W LED's I fitted in my new house. Just the cheap Eurolux 3W at R140 per box of four bulbs. Maybe this place's concealed ceiling fittings are more suited to LED bulbs.

I'm trying to attach and image via tapatalk.

But for some reason the option is not there in this thread.

85w CFLs? those are meant for those baylights used in warehouse style buildings.

I. Told you I. Want daylight in my house.

I despise the dark.

I wanted arch lights but no one could assist.

Now I'm looking at revamping and using LEDs of they can match the sun.

Leds are not much more efficient than ccfl, so no use in replacing them for the same amount of light.

Listen here, mister. Ccfl lamps are typically 46-75 lumen per watt, leds are around 55-80. Not worth the extra expense for a marginal gain.

Sure, you get more efficient Leds, but not in a product you can buy at a retail store in SA.

A T8 flourescent is still better than most Leds available in stores.
