LED or LCD

The new Sinotech LED backlit LCD's are actually looking pretty decent tbh...

go for a fhd samsung lcd, perhaps older lcd tvs have issues when it comes to sd and sport but i have 2 samsung lcd (one led) fhd tvs and neither of them have issues with sd dstv and sport.

You're waste you strength ;)

The (incorrect) synopsis was that every plasma out performed every LCD in every category. To them, they'll always be dull, dark grey, blurry and lagged ...

The synopsis is that plasma is the best overall.

Of course, this does not include comparing mid range plasmas to high end LCDs (which in some cases beat the plasma - at a price!).

:D

I've picked that up on the forum. I probably watch 2 maybe 3 live football matches per weekend. Besides that, I never even switch my on TV. It will be used more for watching HD & FHD (currently using my 27" for that) so I was leaning more towards a FHD LCD to enjoy FHD content. Has the quality of Plasmas improved? A few years ago I watched a football match on family members R20k 40-something inch plasma and there was this ghost effect - like a white 'tail' after the ball and 'shadows' behind players if they were moving fast. I wasn't impressed tbh.
R10k is slightly out of my budget (I was leaning towards around R7k) but a 50" in my lounge would be awesome though. . .

Plasma is what you need.

As for the FHD vs HDR it's irrelevant since Multi choice only broadcasts at 720p anyway ;) Meaning you will only be able to watch HDR on a FHD tv anyway :p
