Yesterday I got disconnected late in the afternoon and any attempts to reconnected failed with the "User rejected by network....check username/password ...blah blah" .As it was after 17h00 hours I called the Nowire after hours support number 0824594640 , and as per tradition I got the message "We cant take your call right now , leave your message and we will call you back".This was followed by "You cannot leave a message as the mail box is full" .

I then tried to call Sentech directly and after waiting on the line for 20 mins(thanx to the "free" minutes on my phone) , I eventually spoke to a support guy.Gave him my username and in true fashion I was told I could not be helped since I'm a Nowire client.I tried to beg the guy to just help me out as I desperately needed to check an e-mail from a client , but he just stuck with his guns.When I left home this morning I still could not connect and Nowire has not come back to me.
Do I not have ground to terminate my contract with them.I would rather go without for sometime, than to pay R800/mon for this extreme poor service.
Whats the best way to go about canceling the contract?
 
What does your contract with them say, does it give any guarantees or is it "best effort" ?
 
Well initially they used to provide 24/7 support and that has changed.
 
I had the same error on the 22 Oct. All they had to do was kick me off the network because, apparently, I was still connected. Even after the tower went offline...

Ever since then, speeds have been shocking. My dialup is running at quicker speeds. Seems they found a way to get rid of the NoWire clients ;)

JayT , how long did you have to wait ?They just told me on the phone that it will take 8 hours for me to be kicked off the network and reconnect.

Tomorrow I'm driving to the Tokai offices to go and "lose it" , until they accept to cancel my contract
 
I was disconnected at 12:05am on a Sunday. So I had to wait till I got home from work on the Monday before I could contact the NoWire helpdesk. Once on the phone with NoWire, they said I should wait 5 - 10minutes.

I think I tried before the 5minutes, still couldnt connect. Tried around the 10min mark and it connected

I havent been able to connected since yesterday afternoon

I get errors like "invalid username and psw" to "pplink was closed" and "disconnected by modem"

So i phoned there support and i was told that they had a major network failure and that they are working on it truth or not ?

And when u go onto the sentech site it says:
MyWireless - Failure: 07 November 2006

We're currently experiencing a failure on the following MyWireless towers. Customers are experiencing connectivity problems. Our technicians are busy resolving the problem.

Sunnyside,
Elarduspark,
West Road South,
Killarney
Nelspruit Boston Campus.

What tower does Sunnyside use ? cause i am in garsfontein and still unable to connect
 
For me it doesnt matter anymore....I'm so done with this duality of evil that Sentech and Nowire have become.

Cancel your debit order... call the bank and ask them to cancel it. If/when they call to find out why, explain they are a bunch of ****s and that you want nothing more to do with them.

Problem solved.
 
You cannot cancel a debit order with your bank. You must cancel the authority you signed with the company concerned (ie Sentech). All you can do with the bank if the debit order goes through is to sign a debit order dispute form and your bank will return the debit order. The bank *must* do this in terms of the Interbank rules governing debit orders. If it goes through again the next month you will have to repeat the process and so on until the company cancels it themselves. A debit order is not like a stop order.

ejbengine, I got disconnected at exactly the same time as you, actually 17:08 and I believe it was a national disconnection.
However I still cannot connect and get the same errors as larch does.
When I contact people I get led around the garden path and I'm inside, so I can just emagine what you guys have to go through :(

Hmmm....says a lot.It's such crap that one calls Sentech and be told "we can't help you because you're a Nowire client"...then trying the Nowire after hours number and getting the "you can't leave a voice message because the voice mail box is full".
I'm taking a drive to the Nowire offices next week and demand that they terminate my contract.I still have 9 months to go but I can't see myself giving them another R6392 for this kind of service!
