Hey guys

I'm between ISP's at the moment, busy using Axxess lite at the moment but its not great for gaming online.

Im still sitting with a 4mb line and my GF and I play a lot of games online like MW2 and BFBC2.

I use about 20GB a month cap wise, so I'm busy looking for a good offering with good Latency on and off-peak.

Very interested in WebAfrica's Titan 2 package but haven't seen any feedback yet with regards to latency, looks like all anyone is interested in is download speed which isn't too much of a factor to me.

So basically looking for anything that will allow 2 PC's playing online at the same time.

Any suggestions?

Are you looking for good local-latency products or good international-latency products?

If it's local, do you want good local-latanecy to Cape-Town or JHB?
If it's international, do you want good international-latency to Europe or USA?

I am with WA on my home line, latency is very good so far.

give me a few ip's you want trace'd and I will give it to you tonight when I get home from work.

I use Webafrica for gaming on my Xbox and have no problems. Most games are peer to peer on the Xbox so we play amongst local players and have very little lag and with BF that is server based I get no noticeable lag.

Webafrica's international ping are in the 200ms range and locally to Cape Town it is 16ms.

If I am playing online with only 1 PC then I dont have latency issues (I will use COD MW2 as an example), the match making server always makes me the host, but then as soon as we start playing, everyone else starts complaining because of the lag where no one other than me will have a 3 bar connection (3 being the highest [I think, cant remember]).

Come to think of it, I think my outbound connection SNR is only 7/8, could that be causing people connecting to me to have problems?

Where can I get some good latency test server, one in CapeTown (where I am), one in Joburg and one international? to compare.

EDIT: would I get different figures if I were to ping someone and someone were to ping me? because of outbound and incoming or would that be the same?

They getting no lag if its oversees server people complain over there when latency goes above 100 ms :P or goes up 10 lol
If its local maybe firewall is slowing them or downloads?

It is because your UPLOAD portion of your line is full, your hosting and uploading a constant amount of data to all the other players in the game.

I dont know about you, but with my 4mb/s telkom line, and my Do Account. I get about 20-25 ping in a call of duty 4 local server... Which imo is awsum
