Dion and Makro have this laptop on special for R3999.

Seems like a good deal.

Any thoughts on this laptop? I have always regarded Lenovo as one of the better brands.

Specs:

Model: G560
Intel core i3 380 2.53 GHZ processor
RAM: 3GB
HDD: 500GB
Display : 15,6" LED screen
Features: webcam, card reader, dual lay
Connectivity : WLAN/LAN
1 year warranty

The G range isn't one of the hardened ranges, like the X range, but it still looks quite good. We got a Lenovo (Thinkpad range) for my sister, and she's very happy with it. She hasn't managed to break it yet, either.

I think its a very good deal for what you get. A friend bought a B560 with pretty much the same specs from esquire, and he isn't complaining...

decent work laptop, i have work allot on clients g550's before , which is just the dual core version, of the g560 which has the i3.

so if it is for work , or broswing etc, then its fine laptop for that purpose.

It's a pitty it doesn't have some decent graphics, else I would buy it tomorrow, otherwise it's got pretty much everything anyone (except me) would want.

I got one @ Esquire for R4k the other day for a colleague.

I'm very impressed with the build-quality.
The touchpad mouse is the best I've ever worked with - not that that says much. It's got a SD Card reader, eSata port etc etc, extras I didn't expect.

Get one, it's very good value for moolah.

Got one for my wife last week. She uses Word, Outlook and IE so it's very quick for her needs.

I was a little let down by the build quality.. but I am comparing it to my Dell. If you look after it and don't intend running heavy apps, it's perfect.
