My laptop power supply cable is getting frayed and it looks like it might be nearly done.

Where can I get a replacement?

ADP-65 KHB 20v 3.25a

Its for an i5 with 8gb ram and a 275GB SSD. I just use it occasionally when out of the office. Its in good nick despite being a 2012 model.
 
Cable fried? PSU is still working?

Most of other Lenowo PSU's will work with the same voltage and current rating.

currently it works - but the cable next to the power supply "brick" is worn through and the little wires are sticking out...

If works, fasten this frayed side with the strap to the PSU body, so it will be not moving and I expect PSU will be in service for long time ahead. Lenovo PSU's come with such hook-and-pile straps. In my opinion it is a main purpose of such straps, so use it as intended.

Not sure a "hook-and-pile strap" is a right term (sort of Velcro invention), my English is not good as you kindly noted.

I use the strap to hold the entire cable when its in the laptop bag. Which is often.

It lasted more than 5 years, which I suppose is reasonable.

It is a common understanding and usage, but not an original purpose. The strap is here to protect the most sensitive place for wearing (where the cable comes out of the enclosure). The shape of moulded plastic around the cable is indicative that it should be strapped around and fastened permanently. Believe me, this is what IBM engineers made in their minds. :)
