Sorry, am done hijacking your thread now

Mine goes straight to the desktop, but I did an upgrade not a clean install. Wonder if that makes a difference.

I think it does make a difference - Mine also went straight to the desktop before I re-installed.

@Bwana, have you checked Grab's preferences? I remember I also had a hassle finding the bloody things and eventually found them in user/documents - then changed it to save on the desktop.

Spotlight "Picture 1.png"
No joy

It works if I use Grab.app but I like to be able to do it from the keystroke. :o

Try Command-Shift-3 as an alternative or Command-Shift-4, release it and then press the space bar. Move the camera to the area you want to capture, and then enter. Try this and let us know.

I had a look at the console and there is something definitely wrong with screencapture :o

What messages do you get?
Along the lines of . . .
15/11/2007 15 Nov07 .10:37 [0x0-0x87087].com.apple.systemuiserver[848] 2007-11-15 10:37:24.516 screencapture[1558:10b] *** _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x1250b0 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking

Yeah - pretty sure. :o

Haha, yeah it was a real long shot.

It seems you are not the only person experiencing this though. Quite strange.

Are all the messages in console similar to the one posted as I am guessing that error message is a symptom, not the real problem.

finally its back :D

Took the plunge and deleted the .GlobalPreferences.plist file and all is, once again, as it should be.

Cool, mine was working from the start, did a daisy fresh install.

Mine was a fresh install as well up until I used the migration assistant. ;)
