Lets all Disable DSTV

We could plan in advance. I will cancel or maybe just downgrade as long as it don't intefere with EPL or F1.
But if we get a good response then I will also cancel for the greater good.

I suggest to whoever it is that's gonns take the initiative to get things done is pick a date to cancel, then we get all the supporting members to call in and we give our slogan upon cancellation, don't know what the slogan will be but MC will get the message very clearly as to what its all about.

If an alternate service provider can give me EPL + F1 + IPL + Super 15 Rugby + MotoGP + Tennis Grand Slam + the Golf Majors + my wife's programmes + International Cricket (especially away series) then I might consider your cause.
 
Also cancelled - R600 a month to watch rugby for 3 months???? Not worth it. Got TOPTV as a substitute, not too bad.
 
a) "operating costs are too high" - Well, lets first see what the typical operating costs are. I would think for getting the content such as international providers such as MTV, Discovery, etc. and to both create and distribute local content such as local sport isn't cheap at all. I am not defending their price, just asking for balanced arguments.

b) all this talk about dstv vs top-tv is pointless if you don't take into consideration what you are particulary looking for in satelite TV. Some people want their latest sport, some want some movies and some just want anything entertaining. Different products for different markets.
 
Personally I do not believe DSTV is too expensive... If you are not happy with the pricing you can always downgrade to a lower package.

+ 1 ... besides how do I tell the missus she can't watch any more Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, House, Brothers and Sisters, Private Practice, The Good Wife, etc etc etc etc. So maybe I am entrenched?
 
I HATE :mad: the R559 I have to pay every month for subscription BUT Last night I had the pleasure of watching the BEST 90 min of British Premiership Football LIVERPOOL 3 - 0 MAN CITY. That was worth EVERY cent I paid for subs so NO I will NOT be cancelling my subs SOON
 
What may perhaps work is if we are able to gain a large amount of cancellation documents.

i.e form a petition type website where people may pledge they shall disable their accounts, HOWEVER, along with that we mail a secure location (e.g RPM) the letters that authorise the cancellation of our service.

Once RPM has enough of the applications, a significant amount to make a difference, he can could contact MultiChoice and say here we go.. x% of your subscribers are cancelling unless you meet demands xy and z.
 
Cancelled a long long time ago... South Africans will never ever work together against being ripped off etc.
 
WTF cancel, are you ppl mad, only to watch the farckers and rubbish on the sabc channels. I rather shoot myself.
 
Yeah cancelled DSTV. Don't watch tv. Watch series/movies on a tv though.
 
Cancelled our's a while back, when lightning took out the decoder. I guess it was just an excuse. DSTV-free since October 2010 and I have not missed it EVER
 
Cancelled 6 months ago.

Looking at getting it again when I move in 2 months :o I can't stand missing MotoGP and rugby ffs :twisted:

I miss the sport :cry: and I've had enough of watching streams in other languages
