Lets all welcome our comrade!

well seeing as we're patting the old ruskies on the shoulder how about acknowledging all the rest of the heroes and veterans of 2 world wars

No problem with that other than that the post would be a bit long. ;)

And a bit off topic.

Wow

The visit by the Putin is nothing more than a courtesy call, we already have very strong relations with Russia, as evidenced by the fact that some of our old Mirage Fighters are being or have been fitted with MIG engines, and numerous other bi-lateral agreements

Thanks for the tipoff...
remind me never to fly a mirage!

As a member of the G8 and as a permanent member of the UN Security council, They are strategicaly a very important partner to have

Just ask the Iranians how good of a friend they are :).
The Russians is selling them their S400 (SA-20 Truimph) air defense system which will ensure that no Isreali or American plane is going to touch their nuclear installations.

I dunno what game the Russians are playing i.r.o Iran.

We will always remember Russia's military and political support to us during the dark days. Welcome Vlad.

Hmm, I wonder for what reason the kommies supported the ANC? You should actually thank the Apartheid Government for stopping the communists from taking over the country. Your 'dark days' would have been the 'last days'!!!

well said - but I thought it was the other way around - the anc supporting the communists (for their funding) - and since the fall even more relevant - the absolute last of the communist regimes: cuba, SA, north korea - china?

(in the sense we have a functioning communist party - including calling everybody 'comrade' - today, now - isn't it time to move on?)

Interesting that you point out China - a communist state that has shown incredible economic growth -

China has only shown growth since it started a policy of "managed capitalism".

edit: google it if you don't understand.

People control, atrocities - people locked up for having an opinion - controlled access to information - communist - no matter how 'successful'.

so - managed capitalism - is like communism with some parts of capitalism, and we have a capitalistic system which is partly socialist ? ( I am not economically enlightened - so this is really a question )

don't worry guys the gvt won't go Kommie on your ass, look at all the SACP leaders, they all have huge business interests

Um, were you in the resistance or something? You just sound like he came and personally gave you some guns and flags to wave.. Very dramatic.
So was it Poqo or MK?

Also, its a good thing, vodka prices better come down, and no smirnoff fake rubbish.

Smirnoff shouldn't even be called Vodka - it's rubbish, real Russian Vodka, ahh, now that's good :D

Stolichnaya is the ONLY vodka to drink... *dreams of the ice cold bottle in my freezer*

I guess I won't be able to find it in my neighbourhood bottle store ? where can I get it *longs for a shot*

I'm almost certain I've seen it at the local bottle store not long ago.

@xtermin8or: Out of idle curiosity, what's your position on exploitation of the masses?
