Let's cut the crap - poll

Wtf yo.
You asked me a question and I'm answering you.

Ok. Now answer the questions below. Please.

To be frank, every time I have asked if people have cashed out and made a profit, it has been ignored.

So, all I am looking for is an anonymous poll that shows who have made what net gains.

Net gains being less set up costs and cashed out.

Maybe another poll for what net gains are still in wallets?

This, saor.

You're asking about setting up a poll. I've already suggested using a free online service and stuff. I'm having a hard time understanding what you want. It's like you communicate in such a way that I feel like whatever I say it'll be the wrong thing with you.

Yes, start a poll.

I dunno.
I'll try again tomorrow.

A free online service? I'm just talking about this forum?

Why do you want to know how much money people have made?

Many people have made a lot of value by buying when it was cheap, and holding onto it until now. Lots too have lost a lot of value by buying when it was at its peak price and holding onto it all the way down. In both cases, not selling, just worth more or less based on purchase price.

Lots of people bought years ago and have made a ton of money by selling when the price has been a lot higher.
Lots of people bought during the hype at the top, and sold for a loss on the way down.

Many people made money and also lost money by participating in pyramid schemes and scams that used bitcoin as a method of payment, thinking that they were 'investing' in bitcoin.

The point is there are lots of winners and lots of casualties along the way. What exactly are you trying to figure out?

I'll only know how much money I've made/lost once a decide to cash out, which isn't going to be anytime soon as I plan on keeping all my investments for at least another 4 years, regardless of which direction is goes.

Ok, have asked this before; but now reading the thread about SA citizens being taken for a ride with crypto-currency; why do we not find out if anyone here has actually made real money from this stuff.

So, I propose a poll.

As in, what has been your net gain.

I don't know how to set up a poll, but I would be interested in this.

Indeed. So, this is a chance to show that these scams are wrong?

As others said, its not currency scamming people, its idiots falling for scams, same way they fall for magic black boxes that turn rands into dollars... does that make R scam?

'So, this is a chance to show that these scams are wrong?' Come again? Scams are wrong, what has that got to do with me/us who don't fall for them? Why must 'we' show they are wrong?

Why would anyone share their bank balance?

It's not their bank balance - it's just how much profit has been made...

It has been interesting to see the marked reluctance to do so, even if it's anonymous. Normally people like to brag a bit about how much they've made...

Fools brag around the water cooler,(unsurprisingly, they're probably also the ones falling for the 'send me your btc and I'll send you 1000% everyday for the next 100 years' scams;)), the rest of us just smile and say thats nice, then roll our eyes when we walk away... its the interwebs, even anonymously, nothings anonymous... only takes one creative fellow to track me down and put my puppy in oven until I hand over my ledger

Edit: And just to add, in my experience, its always the 'braggers' that have no money when it comes down to it and are always hitting up people for loans and what not... I haz 10mil profit deal, but need R100 for petrol till payday, 3 months later, I need another R200... what happened to your 10mil? Its coming its coming... decades pass, its always coming, always rich with fancy cars and toys, never any money to pay for petrol or kids school fees

Crypto scams != Crypto

Scams will always make people lose money regardless what asset is being used.

Must I tell about how many forex scams there are and jse investment "management services" etc etc.

This is nothing new and has very little to do with crypto.

So the poll is to find out how many got in on the ground floor of the pyramid scheme and who got ****ed by the pointy end?

I am sure if you invested 1000 USD in 2008 when crypto started up,
and then sold last year at the lasy high point, you made a very healthy profit, probably closer to a lotto winning.

nowadays, I sure some making money, but its more along the lines of a standard stock or unit trust,

myself, never invested more than R1000 in BTC, and got most of it back, was always well aware its a bit like gambling,
IE where the ball drops on the roulette table, and it can be manipulated and influenced very easily.

I mean if satoshi had to dump all his coins onto the market, or burn all his coins in an unspendable address, what would happen to the market?
I doubt it will survive such a move.
