Gentleman and Ladies.

It be that time when we start emailing IS directly to start getting results, do you know any of the senior managers, ceo, fd etc email addresses. I think we they get 300 - 500 email a day they may take notice.

I cancelled my IS uncapped account a while ago and I'm now using SAIX. That's the best way to get their attention IMO.

IS would not notice that, they would need to bleed at least 500k a month to even get a blink out of them.

On its own no, but in aggregate if everyone did it they'd notice. Why would they care what emails you send as long as you keep paying them?

They won't care how much you moan as long as you still pay them. I'm going with 20GB over SAIX rather then a useless IS uncapped from next month with a lower cost, and If I need more another 10GB its less than R500.

This is what I understand is going on with IS bandwidth shortages.
From the 1st November the SAT3 cable is now open to other players. IS knowing this did,nt want to commit to long term contracts on new Satellite bandwidth has hung on until now so they can rather purchase fibre connectivity via SAT3. I believe they will be purchasing from Neotel who has access. In the interim IS has about 300MB of new fibre access that will be coming online anytime which of course is subject to the backhaul national access from Melkbosstrand to JHB being completed. This should bring there services back to something of acceptable. From conversations that I have had IS will be converting there entire ADSL backbone including there capped products to fibre as they are now able to purchase this bandwidth more cost effectively than satellite.
My source has commited to end of next week that this bandwidth will come online, but of course thats if everything comes together.

I hope they do sort it out and that you're right dIRE, but that doesn't help people that have forked out a small fortune for this months uncapped only to get download speeds of under 10k when it's going well. I'm starting to wonder how feasible it would be to take my ISP to small claims court as I haven't received what I payed for, they in-turn might be able to get it back from IS.

I canceled my IS Unshaped Account a month ago....
But it still works so I can't complain, horrible speeds though:rolleyes:

Wow! Wouldn't this mean SAIX-like response times/latency (and potentially better performance overall)? That would absolutely ROCK!!!
