Let's see how long Telkom takes...

Well it has been more than a month now since I applied for WiMax and still not a word from Telkom regarding a solid install date. (Yes I had a few tentative ones) Their 10 days for install time frame holds as much water as the drum I took out with my shotgun the other day.

Dude... I had so much trouble with my installation, but Telkom called me back after 5 weeks or so. Just hang in there...

Sorry, the thing froze so I clicked and clicked until something happened... lol... sowwy :|

No problem at all. Actually it is a great way to get your point across. :D

Phoned Telkom Business again and they finally gave me somewhat of an answer regarding the delay in my install. Apparently there has been no stock of WiMax equipment in the country for the last 2 weeks. The stock has arrived and the installers will be scheduling installs soon. Now there must be a huge backlog of installs. Hoping my one is close the the beginning of that queue.

Well I think the Telkom call center pretty much hates me now. After phoning them twice a day for the last week they finally gave me another non Telkom number to phone. So yesterday I phoned that number all exited and what a disappointment. I got through to a company part of the CPC Group which is pretty much just as bad as Telkom. They in turn phoned another company while I was on hold and I overheard them saying Grintek. So now I am waiting for someone at Grintek to get back to them and then they will get back to me. Now I know why WiMax is such a mission to get installed. :(

WiMax install completed 12:30 today. Waiting on activation. I am a happy camper once again. :D

No aerials in stock, ETA is 3 weeks for stock and another 2 weeks for installation in Durban if you placed your order in the last week or so.

Go Telkom. After 4 weeks of line testing and telling me that the ADSL will be ready "tomorrow or so" every single day you called them in those 4 weeks eventually ending with no ports available excuse, having to deal with Niroshnie* which is the most rude Wimax consultant you can get (so far) and now this, you do keep exceeding expectations.

*no interest in the call, craps you out because you got transferred to her from another consultant and he should have helped you (even though he did the transfer) and when you ask if they can make a note to call you when their systems are online just inform that no one is really going to do that.

DAMN... I can't wait 6 weeks to get WiMax... Is that how long I will have to wait? Does anyone please have an e-mail address or number that I can call to get some info? Because I am quite clueless

Think I phoned 10219 and was then told that a consultant would phone me. Which they did in a couple of days. Problem is that there isn't enough WiMax equipment in the country atm. At least not the equipment that Telkom lease to you.
