Let's talk Cologne

You do know that Parallel imports, doesn't mean it's fake right?

Even when you buy from Rio, Ascot, FragranceX etc or any other discounters, their prices are generally cheaper than Woolworths, Sephora etc just because they cut out the distributor/middle man.
I didn’t say they were fakes?
They aren‘t Dubai Parallel imports ;)

So guys , I purchased a bottle of Ameer Al Oud by Lataffa for a friend of mine that is of the Islamic Faith .

Honestly the intention was to introduce him to Oud fragrances , and I was not thinking about the alcohol content of the fragrance . Only upon gifting it to him , I’m like oh snap, then we read the bottle it says “Alcohol denat “or denatured alcohol”

I was under the impression that all these fragrances where infact “halaal” not sure if that’s the correct term in this context . And the fact that it comes from Dubai and the owners of these stores are of Islamic faith too .. I automatically assumed it’s safe for use .

So the question is , can he use it or can he not, a google search of the issues has given mixed results some say yes, some say no .

Cheers

Found this https://aboutislam.net/counseling/ask-the-scholar/food-slaughter/alcohol-based-perfumes-allowed/

and looking at a few other articles, I would say its permitted? Since you're not consuming the perfume/cologne?

Does aramex global shopper ship colognes?
They could but as far as I know due to the high alcohol levels you aren’t supposed to ship fragrance without special packaging and clearance so they store it in a different part of the aircraft hold and that is very expensive.
But best to ask AGS themselves.

Any members ever order from international sites like fragrancex.com etc. Was wondering what the SA duties and taxes works out to approx?

45% duties + vat
It’s not worth importing fragrances
