Let's talk Cologne

I used to get 3 free samples whenever I bought something at Red Square online. Any other places that do this as well? Preferably online.
 
Anybody seen the billboard for a documentary called Odour?I havent seen it, but the ad on the radio and from discussion with some colleagues, suggests that all big brand perfumes cost about R30 to make per bottle.

Seems to be some sort of marketing campaign disguised as a documentary

Saw the other day when I was on the M1 heading to Midrand to a client. Watched it when I got home. Was not what I was expecting. Thought it was going to be a full length doccie, but was more like a infomercial. Was still interesting how much it actually costs to make perfumes and what we pay for it.

What they do not take into account though is the expertise and R&D and testing the market it takes to get a scent that appeals.

Yes, it's an advertorial for Fine Fragrances to sell their "smell alike" perfume. It seems they have opened up retail stores all over.

I'm keen to buy one or two and compare to my originals.

Yes, try simplysublime on bidorbuy - they operate out of Oriental Plaza in JHB and have a store there. They can source anything you want - it might be a bit pricey, but give it a shot.

You missed the opportunity to slip a bit of doubt in. You could've just added abuse at the end of the list so everyone just paused and thought wtf, would've been quite an anti climax.

Where or what site do you buy from, and don't they slap you with hefty shipping fees and other costs? Where do you buy from and what site. And isn't the shipping fees expensive and the tax that Sars slaps you with?

45% duties and vat is the killer when importing fragrance, it only works if you buy on overseas holidays.
 
I have collected quiet a few perfumes over the years. I have been thinking of decanting some of them and sell/swap them in viles to share. But the fragrance community does not seem to be too big in our country.

Have you guys added any nice fragrances recently?

I am keen to get D&G The One and Aqua Di Gio Profumo soon
