Let's talk Gatsbys

haha we have quite a few guys who been there so next time mass gastbsy meet
...and they have it on the menu the grilled chicken..

Hmmm, a Mass MyBB Gatsby Meet. I have had that grilled chicken one before but the chicken was a bit too spicy/hot for my tastes. Due to a damaged nerve I only sweat on the one side of my body so if I eat anything hot (both temperature and spice wise) I start to sweat profusely.

Although your way does sound waaaaay better than the one I had:

very long 1metre rolls which must be toasted
(never had a toasted gatsby myself)
the chips abit crispy as i dont like slaap chips ..
(Ha, I also prefer my chips crispy - never thought about asking for crispy chips though as it takes longer and I do not want to keep every up)
add 2 slices cheese to the bottom (cut into triangles)..then goes the chicken ...some sauce over that ..
then the chips with bbq and chilli spice and salt and add 2 slices cheese on top ..cut into triangles so distributed all over
then the sauces , mayo and a secret sauce

Sounds superb!

..just that you have to pay more to get it the way i do :p

Meh, sometimes it is worth it to pay for good food. Name your price.

Why not do it at the MyBB braai? Fusion food is quite popular at the moment.

cosy corner in roeland street ?

thought they in wynberg

edit: you mean the parking at cosy corner ?

Yeah, thought of driving to Wynberg then to find parking = nightmare

The Gatsby I had was pretty good from "the entertainer", funny how well Somalis and Pakistanis have adapted to making gatsbies :D

I had a chargrilled steak gatsby + cheese from Cosy Corner this evening :p It was excellent. I'm going to have to stay awake for a few more hours so that I can have a comfortable sleep.

I've been to all the famous Gatsby spots in CT
best Gatsby I've ever had - Muizenberg flea market - food court - gentleman in a caravan - I've travelled 100km for this Gatsby.

Had the half polony gatsby from Planet Food for lunch today, couldn't even finish half.

You mean, Food Planet - Also had one like that earlier (I see they used white paper today) but with crispy chips and cheese - was marvelous.

I see there is a type of an Indian version of a Gatsby as well .... roti roll with chicken/mutton, cheese and chips.

Yes that's called a Salomie. Unless I'm mistaken and Salomies only have curry inside.

Go to Sunrise Chip & Ranch in Mowbray and you'll find a roti gatsby.
Curry, chips, double cheese (or as much as you want) and salad ='d me laying on the grass at Rhodes Memorial halfway into that sucker wanting a crane to lift me up and put me on a flatop to take me home.

My only gripe with Sunrise, is that their curries aren't strong enough - and I've asked for Hot-Hot!
