Let's talk Gatsbys

Must say Food Inn have been sorting me out of late, not the best in the world but certainly well priced and less efforts than missioning down to Mirriams.

I had an awesome curry there a few weeks ago.
Forget the name - but some northern indian recipe - succulent lamb :)

Brudders! You don't wanna know!

Cosy Corner in Wynberg is now my personal "meetstok" for a gatsby in CPT.

OMFG!

I'm at the office on Monday till 22:20 - had a craving for some junk food - didn't want MCD's of KFC.
Talked to mates at the office about options - Bona was closed, wasn't in the mood to drive via Golden Dish and then one oke mentions Cosy Corner and how they've been revamped and goes on about their menu and how he's been making his way through it.

He recommends the Chargrilled Rump Steak Gatsby - I salivate!

I go for the "Half Chargrilled Rump Steak Gatsby" @ R54.90.
Call in the order and drive down from Century City a few minutes later.

Get there and its piping hot and waiting for me.
Grab a 2 liter Stoney and make my way to the car.

Have a nibble in the car and had my fscking head blown off with the flavours.
THE SAUCE! EPIC!!!!!

I rush home, fall into the damned thing with my face - pure bliss!

Jeez - get yourself down there and try it out!
There were 3 well sized pieces of rump on that half gatsby - plenty of chips and sauce - greens, onions - I don't know what else.
But nothing is touching them as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be back making my way through the rest of their menu too

Pictures or it didnt happen.

hows cozy corner compared to farmstall?heard good things about both

I've liked Farm Stall over the years - but their prices have always been over the top in my book.
Haven't had anything there in yonks - but afaik, they stick to what they do best.
Few months ago I had a lamb salomie which was good.

But for now, I'd say spend a little less and have your mind blown at Cosy Corner ;)

If you're in Lansdowne, there's a small take-aways called Azraa's. It's a few doors away from Plax Pharmacy. Their stuff is worth a try. Prices are good and food is nice as well.

The last Gatsby I had was in New Zealand, was huge and delicious.

Btw isn't is spelt Slap* Chips? I always thought Slaap* chips was misspelled.

No it was called a Gatsby also, I think it's an Indian family from Durban that moved there that opened up the shop, because they also have Bunnies and Curry and Slaap chips.
Surely u mean slap chips!

Slaap just doesn't sound right, but you can trust those charo's to mod anything, even words :p

Where in the Northern Suburbs (preferably around Tygervalley) can one hookup a Full House Steak Gatsby?
