Considering end up paying up to 4 - 5x the times more for fruit from Woolworths, all their fruit are absolute trash when it comes to actually taste. Though more shelf stable than other places all WW fruit is bland and almost completely tasteless. I've literally had flavoured water with more fruit flavour than WW's actual fruit.

I mean if I'm going to pay a premium for fruit it should at least taste good unlike the sterile bland fruit at WW.

Woolworths are terrible to the farming businesses that are contracted to supply.
****woolies.

Woolworths can supply a constant 7-8/10 kind of fruit. But I do believe the rest of the chains have caught up. But that said, Food Lovers do over better value, especially if you know how to pick good fruit.

Looks wise their fruit is like 7-8/10 taste wise their fruit is a constant 5-6/10 if I'm being generous.

I just bought 4 avos for R60. Opened the first one and it was brown. Kill me.

Yeah they used to be the go to if you wanted guaranteed “ripe and ready” but it’s been a dismal failure of late.

R60 isn’t bad though.

Checkers for me thanks.

I picked up 3 large avos for R20. Locally seems to be the harvest season for the round type.

Yeah but that’s a standard bag and up to you to figure out when it’s ripe.

Woolworths (and others shops) with branded ripe and ready is more expensive because they are supposed to be perfect.

I can only buy red apples from WW they are always good and stay fresh for long. I've chucked too many bags of apples that were terrible from other places.

Other fruit I buy all over by what they look like and haven't had too many issues.

Other: It's a scam. Comes from the same farm just more hoops to jump through.

The difference is in storage while being transported and warehoused even when it comes from the same farms and then timing it to market.

But the rest…or at least Checkers seems to have caught up there.

I buy everything from Woolies. I have really tried to give other retailers a chance and in search of better prices but the products are not up to standard most of the time. It’s like using android after using an iPhone. Everything else pales in comparison.

Lol it's the exact same stuff as elsewhere.
