Leveling the telecoms playing field in SA

Yeah and while we're asking for stuff, I want all my companies suppliers to charge me less than they charge my competitors, too.

This guy's hilarious: "level the playing field... by tipping it in my favour".

At this point, I think he's just trolling ICASA.

Anything to boost the competitiveness in the industry.
I fully agree wit AKC. Vodacom and MTN make insane profits at the expense of the consumers.
I still can't believe that some idiots does not agree with this.

Any businessman calling for strong regulation is actually asking the State to provide him with special protection so he can make more profits than a free and open market would otherwise allow. AKC is no friend of the consumer.

Wanna know who has the fastest, cheapest and most reliable telecoms in Africa? The one country with no central government to "regulate" aka stifle business.

Afforable fast internet for all

English spelling, please .Do agree, with you that anything that improves competition and lowers prices should be welcomed. But was AKC not at the helm of VC, when they criminally colluded with MTN to raise the interconnection fees or MTN from R0.25 to 1.25 in 2001 ? After Cell C got the license to operate.
As most on this forum will surely agree telecommunication and internet is not a luxury any more but a bare necessity in any modern society, so to fix prices in a sector that's so essential, especially in SA where most people don't have fixed lines or internet is not far behind in being moral despicable than fixing prices of bread or maize meal.
IMHO, the managers involved in these kind of practices, price collusion in essential sectors of the economy should be criminally prosecuted and jailed for a considerable period. Fines for these offences are simply not adequate.

Yep, his spelling, and just your grammar. ;)

Yes, I fully agree with you, AKC was no angel when he was at the helm of Vodascum BUT the only reason why he's bitching and moaning right now is because the ICRs are not in CellC's favour.

Thanks, my grammar and construction of sentences is probably a bit unusual as I am not a native speaker or writer of this language. It should have been also "morally despicable". Any concrete suggestions to improve my grammar would be appreciated.
Now back to the issue, we all are up in arms about the great corruption in government (Nkandla, etc ), but we are not equally shocked when corporates collude and fix prices, basically steal from Joe Average, the consumer.
I am all for free market, but to leave it completely to companies has not all worked too well in many instances. Fortunately, the competition authorities appear in this country at least to try improve matters in this respect.
The credit crunch, financial and banking crisis of 2008 showed clearly that better supervision and regulation of the financial sector was and is needed.

AKC wants Cell C to partner with a big player like Telkom cause they need cash. Stop crying and run a network with true costs and sell service for the business to be sustainable. Interconect needs to symentrical! This async is BS
