lexmark x1290 cartridge refill

hi all
i hope this question is in the correct forum.

i have a lexmark x1290 printer\scanner combo, and my ink has run out.

would it be ok to refill these? and where can i refill these in pta east?

(i can't see much info on the cartridges themselves. the blank ink has a number 0K0C719, and the colour ink cartridge 0KN5CBM)

Does the cartridges have numbers such as 36, 37, 43, 16 or something on them?

My pc is off now (posting from cell) & my list of printer & their cartridges are on there....

Some lexmark cartridges cannot be refilled as they have a chip that reads when they are empty & will ''stay empty'' even if filled. Only option that SOMEtimes works is to refill before it's empty. But not always.

Chip is on cartridge. Replacement = +/- R340 & R370 ... try find compatibles/generic ... i would not refill these

Remanufactured orgeneric ones are avail from reputable supplier & should thus be in some stores.

You're in pta & i'm in jhb. I can help if you wish, though finding a place by you should be easier. The replacement for the 16 is around R2??, can confirm price in the morning.

A place called Inky refills them here in the Cape (they have some branches in Gauteng, they can be found here: http://www.inkyshop.co.za/6.Gauteng.htm, they sell generic cartridges as well.
I have had my cartridges refilled and they worked afterwards.

They refill the cartridge simply by making a hole in the top, and using a syringe injecting the ink into the cartridge.
I paid R100 for the Black 16 cartridge

Sorry I have been a lil busy, here are the pricing from my supplier for remanufactured cartridges:

16 - R249
26 - R269 (no stock currently, ETA towards end of next week)
27 - R199 this is a smaller colour(26) cartridge, they do have stock of this.
