Also check the wowhead forums. They have a bunch of threads on different specs and usually have good guides for what gems/enchants you need. And the overall quality of the forums are higher than official forums.
Some ideas:
Head: Arcanum of Burning Mysteries from Kirin Tor
Shoulders: Greater Inscription of the Storm or the lesser version if you're short on rep.
Legs: Brilliant Spellthread.
Bracers: Superior Spell Power.
Gloves: Exceptional Spell Power.
Rings: Greater Spell Power.
Belt: Get an Eternal Belt Buckle and add another gem.
I left out some of the enchants (cloak and boots) because I'm not sure about them. If you need haste you can enchant the cloak with haste. Boots is a spirit enchant but I think that is useless to mages.
