LF healer

was thinking about it on my way to the chiro, I think healing in wow is lacking style now days, there are 2 modes of healing whackamole or omfspamhealtank as skurm stated and the trying to keep awake to recast renew.

I think it's why i started tanking, respeccing to a holy pally last night, reminded me just how boring healing in wow is

I kinda agree with you there. I know my son logs my druid on sometimes and runs instances with the druid basically on autofollow. Macros make it so easy.

I quit my healer.

It's a lousy job, it's unfun, solo play is like having your teeth pulled and you people with your incessant whining never make it any easier.

Need healers? Roll your own. See how it is.

Me? Nevar again.

I agree. raiding with my lock now. chilling out in the back row with a cold beer spamming dots and shadow bolts. Occasionally it gets complicated and i have to banish something. I complain about how i can't hold my beer, dps and banish at the same time. They soon understand the complications and tell the tank to grab it next time :)

lol

I don't really care about the boring factor with healing. Fact is, healers are in demand. Our guild has 2 level 80 healers left...which kinda hurts when tying to get a raid together.

Have some healers leveling up not, all close to 80. I still want a healer though...after the healer I'll level DK for tanking ^^

Mage DPS is fun. Aiming for high crits and getting on top of the DPS list in a raid. Its no longer like that though...getting out DPS'ed by hunters, shamans etc etc...its more annoying now -.-

They had the tools to do it all these years. They where just not configured right. Now that it's been fixed I need to say that it's about time tbh. How can you have a class with all the right tools to do massive damage end up at the bottom of the food chain ?

The feeling all across WoW on our real is that it has now been fixed and shamans are where they are suppose to be when it comes to Melee DPS.

I have to admit I have seen some amazing figures pop up at my level with Shamans in my group. They are brilliant. Mine is still relaxing at level 70 will level him one day :o

I agree there, thing is Shamans are hybrid...they shouldn't be TOP DPS...they should be after mages, warlocks and rogues.

And hunters :p (I hate hunters, but they are pure DPS class, so have to give them that :p)

Healing is about 95% bored out of your mind, 5% panic. I really can't believe I spent 18 months of my life being a healer in WoW. It was the most soul-crushingly boring thing I can think of to do with the time you're supposed to be having fun. It really the most inane damn thing you can do in a game.
The only redeeming thing about it is people respect you for doing it, because almost nobody actually wants to be the healer. And you're in demand so getting raidspots and instance runs and free gear is virtually a guarantee. But I mean what's the point of that, if you hate doing it? SO I stopped, and have never been happier. It means getting kicked out of instance runs for being dps but frankly, the hell with it. I refuse to compromise my fun any more.

Blizz needs to seriously re-evaluate healers and healing mechanics. I don't know how the heck they plan to do it though, because I think the slide from healtankspam to whackamole was their attempt to make healing more 'fun' and involving but all it really did was make it more frustrating and yet just as terribly boring. Maybe one of the ways would be to reward healers for engaging in dps. Not to enrage anyone by bringing up this topic but they certainly could take a page from WAR and have a look at the way Warrior Priests/Disciples of Khaine work. They have their own resource used for heals which fills up by doing damage, and it works amazingly well. If they sit in the back row and try to be healbots, their output is terribad, so we in WAr tend to routinely see these WP's and DoK's and even Archmages and Goblin Shaman who work similiarly but are ranged casters, throwing out damage spells and weaving offensive debuffs in between their heals because doing so is in fact their most effective way to heal. It's a simple concept and yet it works so brilliantly, and it's certainly popular amongst the destro crowd because they have no shortage of healers whatsoever. Order ofc looks gay, so there's a shortage of AM's and Rune Priests, although a healthy number of WP's (who look AWESOME, and kick a WoW pally healbots ass in terms of looking cool and being fun to play while healing any day of the week).

also proactive healing vs reactive healing
Probably why there at least doesn't seem to be such a problem finding resto druids.

I predict you'll see many more hots and shields and stuff coming to the other healing classes. But most of all I just want to be able to pewpew a bit in between, and be rewarded for doing so. Let healers regen mana from certain damaging spells(not spammable ones though, jsut the ones on cooldown), and problem solved.

For me the worst part of being a healer was how painful doing anything solo was. I'm guessing its not as bad now with way Spellpower works, but with duel specs coming up I think it will fix that.

As for being boring, the best experience I've had with healing was through PVP. Being a Disc Priest theres a nice balance of healing and having to be offensive. Priest had the highest burst damage potential and well as feeding pressure onto the other team with dots, which is why rogue/priest was such a popular comp o_O

As for PVE healing... no.

Yes, also proactive healing is more a mitigation method that spamming to keep up, is why when i was pve healing as a priest i always kept renew up on the tank, it was mitigating n damage a tick, versus counting as healing, this left me more time to think about what my next heal was going to be as effectively the tank was mitigating more damage

+1 Amen to that ...

True.

But healers are needed :p So I won't be doing many solo quests :D

I have a lvl 80 mage that will bring in the monies :p Also have a second account with a Paladin and Hunter that can help with quests if needed (follow ftw)

Problem is they only go up to lvl 70 xD

Yeah i had warior priest too in wow and hes 10X the fun to play than my resto druid or priest.Cause i actually have to get in there and do dmg to be able to heal. And the thing that the tank takes 50% of your dmg if he gaurds you make you and him feel like a team in WAR once took down 5 dpsers me and a IB.

Wows the better game atm for me cause war hat way too many problems but ill get back to war in 4 monthss to see if they fixed the things that bothered me .

Aerie Peak..DK's!!!

We have a issue on this server as well... except there are quite a number of healers around :D

I played various instances in Outlands about 2 nights ango and I would say on average each group had 3 DK's!!

One group I joined had 4 DK's!!! LOL To which I asked where is the healer, and they promptly told me we dont need one!
