Hi All,

So I've had the phone for around 2 weeks now, and it seems I'm still having the same issue as from the start. I'm only managing around 12 hours average battery life during a typical day. This is only including around 2 hours screen time. My friends with the exact same model from the same carrier gets around 2 days of use, with around 4hr30 screen time.

The issue is, if I take the phone back to MTN - it might take as long as 2 weeks to review. Also, seeing that "newer smart phones don't usually have very long battery life" , I'm not sure what they'll do about it.

Does anyone know of anything it could be? I don't have an SD card. However, Android OS, does sometimes creep up as high as 50% battery usage... Which is worrying!

Thanks for the assist,
Z :)

Edit :

Forgot to add. Screen brightness is on 60%

I've tried auto - but it doesn't make anything better. This happened even after a factory reset with no apps... So I don't know what could be causing it?

I remember having the same problem with my xperia. Have you tried charging it for 12-16 hours?

Try swopping batteries for a day or 2 and see if there is any difference in performance with each phone.

I'm on 21%, 2hr10 screen on time!

Z :)

Sounds like you have an issue there , iv got an LG G3 and my battery life is really great . I usually get at least 5hrs 30min screen on time . Over the weekend I managed almost 6hrs 30 min screen on time . I have my brightness set at 50% for the most time .

Are you running the latest update on the device ? I do recall when I got mine (around 3 weeks back) that upon switching it on I had 3 updates waiting to be completed already .

Yep running the latest update,

Your stats are pretty much in line with what they are supposed to be...

I dont see how the phone could be doing it though? I mean surely its a software issue?

Here is a screen shot of My LG G3 from last night before I put it on charge . As you can see the screen on time is really good , so I think you have a problem there . Have you checked that you have the latest updates installed ?

This particular cycle (from 100% to 3%) took 26hrs 49min .

I have V10j-ZAF-XX installed, which I believe is the latest?

Thats the latest here in SA , might be time to take the phone back especially if it is only 2 weeks old . Maybe give it a cycle or two more and take screen shots of the battery stats as you go so that if you have to take it back that you have hard proof . I did that with a Sony Z1 that I returned for a touch screen issue last year .

When i checked it in with Vodacom i handed them copies of the screen shots etc as well as proof which did help speed things up somewhat .

What you are getting is definitely not the norm I would say for the G3 though . Honestly I have been really happy with mine and the battery life and that is coming from a Samsung Fan :)

I think you're right. I'll take it to MTN soon - hopefully they can sort it out. Everyone seems to be happy, I mean even this morning I was on 87% while my friend was on 99%, and he had used more screen time compared to me, with his brightness being higher than mine. Very strange to me!

Thanks for the help!
