LG G4

I thought of that but Google is quicker.

Off topic. Would any of you choose a Note 5 above a G4? Price set aside.
Anyday! (well that's if the note 5 camera can do raw, which I think it can).
Hardware keys so full screen real estate and an extra 0.2", also I like the hardware keys. I miss my Note 3 but the G4 was the best phablet I could afford as an upgrade with raw camera support.

That's not to say the G4 is a bad phone. Only thing that really grates me about the G4 is the sh*tty headphone audio.

I also thought I could never live without root / custom roms. But the LGs skin compensates a little and I've not missed much since my upgrade.

It's just that the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ were in a different league altogether... And they had the price to match.

I got my phone back on saturday late morning.

took it to them wiht the battery at about 79%. because of the screen issue no usage at all other than showing the issue drained that much battery in about 2 hours.

I turn on the phone and the screen is still dead, but they said they fixed it.
so both me and the guy at the counter freak out. it is clear there is a new screen on the phone. bezel has been changed new glass is on, new plastic to peel off the works.

I go change lock settings, lock the phone and unlock (yes I tried this before) and suddenly the phone works 100%. by this stage the guy behind the counter already has the QA guy on the phone and was about to start screaming at him for giving a broken phone back. was quite funny.

anyway a day later my phone is still fine. battery use is back to normal like before I went to MM.

they did not reset my phone. I lost no apps, no data nothing.
if you are with MTN, and you are in gauteng and you nee your phone repaired, go to allendale. its worth fighting the traffic to deal with people that know what they are doing.

I'm considering selling my G4. What do you think is a fair price?

Comes with the following :
Box, headphones and charger
Brown leather back cover
Black leather back cover
Gold plastic back cover
32GB Micro SD
Gold Bumper cover
Blue Bumper cover
UAG Military Grade Case (transparent and black)

Phone is in excellent condition.

R5k tops, and I mean tops. I bought mine, brand new sealed in the box, Cellucity Vodacom stock for R5400 in November last year. I personally wouldn't buy a second hand one for more than R4000 but the market indicates around R5k for what you're offering, with 6 months warranty left.

Do our G4s come with a recovery installed? Or am I going to have to use the SDK to install TWRP or some other recovery in order to wipe the cache partition?

I'm asking because it seems that's my final option before doing a total wipe. After my sister's updating to Marshmallow all downloads are completely broken, it's not just the store as I originally thought, it's all forms of download whether on data or WiFi. Though everything else appears in perfect working order.

Not sure whether any of you have experienced something like this at any point.

I had a weird error last week before the screen died. I could not download anything vai the play store. some weird google error. even after restart. the next morning everything was right again then the screen died.

I do not think the two are related.

and honestly shumi, use LG backup, do a full reset, then reinstall from backups. it fixed my issues with the battery

You mean use LG Backup even after the problem has appeared? Wouldn't that also backup the problem?

My G4s battery life is so impressive that I'm totally convinced I have the best unit out of all the phones in this thread, until I got the Note 5.

It just won't die on me. And I have my Gear S connected 24/7 too.

So, when's it up for sale?

So Android N Dev Preview just got released. What's the chances of us 815P guys ever seeing Android N (this year). I've made peace with not getting root or custom roms on the G4. I've been getting along just fine for a month or so now.
