you don't have to restart. just locking it again, should make it disappear... doesn't happen very often tbh

Nope. My light flashed for about half an hour. Opened and closed everything. Cleared all apps. Only went away when I restarted

It's standard on the G4.
Unfortunately the plebs like me are still joling on a Note3, though it does have a bigger screen than you guys, all of 0.2", but they say every inch counts.

Is there any app or mod that could allow me to have a cheapie G4 wannabe phone that I can unlock the screen with a dbl tap?

You can search knock to unlock in Playstore. I'm sure there will be something.

AFAIK LG has some hardware to accommodate knock-on. Apps that does this will keep the screen on = battery drain.

Not really. It's a hardware thing. Having an app of some sort yhat will allow this, will be very battery hungry.

But if you are looking for a cool lockscreen replacement, look no further than AcDisplay.

So considering getting thgis end of the month.

How's the battery life?

Also how's the rear facing speaker?

After getting used to front face speakers using any phone with rear facing speaker has just been terrible. Might have to get a Z3 again.

Haven't owned a G4... Just yet :D.

But this is my experience with regards to the LG software on the G3, G2 and a few Optimus phones... It's good, nice and fairly fast. Not too much bloatware but a lot more "colourful" or less plain than Sony.

Regarding the rear speakers, I've never had an issue. Front-facing will be better but I don't mind rear ones. Just turn the phone onto its screen when listening to music (if that's what you're worried about).

I've found the Sony phones to feel a lot weaker than all the LGs I've owned and pretty much all phones actually... Judging by how soon your ones broke, I'd give another brand a try :). Huawei is really nice too ;)

I watch a lot of YouTube on my phone, hence the question.

I suppose while I'd driving though I can use the car's speakers.

When I play music of watch some video clips, youtube, etc... the sound comes from the rear speaker as well as the front earpiece speker. It's nice and loud.

Battery life on my G4 is awesome. 73% right now - moderate use. Took off charger at 9am. Heavy use should also do one day. I have my screen brightness lowered to 70% in day time and 50 at night. Got used to it. Speaker is very loud compared to my old Galaxy S4. Apparently not as loud as the HTC M9 tho. Im not complaining though.

I think I should add. I never use max volume when playing music or watching movies. It's just not necessary.
