LG G4

No it'll randomly dim the screen despite the light conditions not changing, I'm not covering or obscuring the ambient light sensor when it happens, nothing will even be close to the sensor. Same light conditions/location I used my Note 2 and 3 in in the past and neither had this happen.

Well this is happening with my phone.

I asked the LG guys on facebook when Android 6.0 would be available for SA folks......... they don't know......... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I don't think any OEM knows because all they can do is pass it on to the Service Providers and then it depends on their schedule.

Thank link you gave me doesn't require root... just an unlocked bootloader. But if you unlock the bootloader you might as well root as both throws the warranty out the window

Ah, okay, can the bootloader be locked again, this "restoring" warranty?

I can't quite work out what my problem is with rooting this G4. I've rooted everything since my S2, even my Oneplus One I rooted the day I got it. Something about the G4 makes me not want to root...

I think there may be a solution.
"LGUP"

from the link I posted, "If you have a locked bootloader and want to upgrade... just use LGUP and flash the KDZ. Don't risk it with FlashFire."

Here's the thread on LGUP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803

Reports are locked boot loader upgrade or full wipe as well as down grade is possible. Will do some more reading.

Hmmm.... but I'm not sure we should be flashing a H815 kdz on a H815P phone :(

Seeing some posts of users flashing 20b with LG UP. And everything seems to be working.... Downloading the kdz while I'm thinking about it.

Will either do it... or not... when I get home :D

hehe, good man! :)
It's downgrade able I believe, and the SA vodacom KDZ is available for download as a backup.
It looks like the difference between 815 and 815P is a few bands.

H815: GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 WCDMA: B1/2/5/8 LTE: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/17/20/28 MOD: WCDMA: B4/B6 LTE: B40
H815P: GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 WCDMA: B1/B2/B5/B8 LTE: B4/B7/B17

Yes, also saw people mentioning it's just a bands thing...

How many people here have used Telegram STOP
its a much better messaging platform than whatsapp STOP
plus you get to make really fun puns while using it STOP

...wow a messaging app that's all about adding pointless text when we've spent years refining sending the shortest message possible...that seems useful

The above post just makes me want to punch you in the face.
And any messaging platform is only as good as the friends & family already using it so I don't see how it can be superior.
