I've rooted or jailbroken virtually every device I have had in the last 5yrs odd and never bricked or damaged anything.

That warning is all good and well but will they penalise you due to the fact of you having rooted at some stage despite running stock when sending a phone in for warranty repair, ala Samsung and Knox tripped or will that only happen if you send the phone in whilst rooted?

The merits or rooting or not is not the point although I do hear you guys regarding the G4 not having much need for a root as other phones. Just as it stands I really value a rooted phone and I can upgrade to a G4 but if rooting just on the face of it will void the warranty like Samsung then I may stick it out a while longer on my still rather nice Note 3
 
Picked up a sealed in the box G4 today (some guy offloading his insurance replacement - included original Cellucity receipt) for R5400. It's busy finishing installing all apps etc after I used the Tap and Go feature. Looking forward to getting stuck into it :)

Same, after uninstalling Facebook on my previous phone (HTC) I noticed I would have 15-20% more battery at the end of the day. Haven't installed it on the G4, and use the browser like you do.

I've had the phone for about a month now, and still find no need to root it. Like someone on the thread said before me, this is the only phone I don't see a need to root.
 
What would be the size of a powerfort that can charge a G4 at least once fully, maybe even twice? 6000 mAh?
 
What would get me 1 and a half charges? 4000-5000 mAh somewhere?
So I should count on a full charge being around 3000 mAh?

How long do these big power banks keep their charge for when not used? Are there any which have some sort of notifier about how much charge they have, like LED light that goes off under half or a small counter or something?
 
I had a 5000 mAh which was able to charge my LG G4 just like the normal LG charger which came with the phone. It had an LED light that shows how much charge is left. It doesn't keep its charge well like its bigger brother (16000 mAh, same brand) though. I gave it away after I got two bigger power banks (16 000 & 20 000 mAh). I had them kept in a drawer for over 2-6 weeks, and when I decided to use it, I was able to charge my lg4 impressively fast. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy.

So when you say Romoss is that simply because that's what you got and you haven't needed to look back? Or did you do some research first? Because I've never heard of the brand before.

And what series? A quick googlesearch (will have to do proper research later) showed Takealot having a whole bunch of them with Sailing in the name? Is that what I want?

And my sister has a laptop with a 6000 mAh battery so does that mean that a fully charged 6000-7000 mAh power bank would also be able to double it's life basically? In other words is it a direct 1:1 transference or do you need to have a major surplus to charge bigger devices like that?

Well, that's the best I have used up to now. Before this I bought another brand from Groupon but was not happy; the LED light was useless because there was no way to know if the PB was fully charged or not. With the Romoss, you can see when your PB needs to be charged or when it is fully charged. I just learned that the "Ultra Slim Elemental Tech 20000 mAh" Groupon PB cannot be charged anymore. It was also way lighter than the 20 000 mAh Romoss I have. I was able to charge my LG G4 with my 5000 mAh Romoss BUT I noticed that I had to charge it because the LED showed that the amount of charge left was low. However, when I used the bigger PB, I did not need to charge it after fully charging my lg4, there was enough charge left on the PB. With my limited scientific knowledge, I think the bigger the better for multiple or repeated charging.

Hmm, alternate question. Any idea for a universal car holder capable of handling the G4?
Don't need a full hands-free kit, just something to hold the phone in place when using GPS navigation.

Does Takelot have something or am I going to have to resort to EBay?

It's amazing you don't see fancy universal ones on every street corner and every shop, we have so many different smartphones these days you can't possibly make them model specific any more and you'd think they'd be in high demand. But in fact you see less of them these days than years ago. I had one for my Navigator Nokias but haven't been able to find anything since for any of the touchscreen phones I've had since.

The Chinese and Pakistani shops have them aplenty. About R150
 
Well yes, but I meant something fancy and adjustable with good build quality, not something that's either going to crack the phone or itself within 10 uses. And it surprises me that all the main stores have completely stopped carrying. At the very least I'd expect the network stores to have Samsung ones for a fleecing of somewhere around 2000 like their junk official covers the last few generations.
 
I've got two XIAOMI 5V 2A 10400mAh Power Banks that I imported from China - quality feel and work very well - they charge the G4 about 2.5 times from below 5% to fully charged
