LG G5

Wife got this after she saw my G4

First impression is that its much more sturdy, I have to admit its a better phone as expected.

They have fixed the things I don't like about the G4, will see what battery life is like.
 
Has anyone found a decent screen Protector yet? Tried they new body glove full screen one. Well it does cover the entire screen I'm getting this annoying rainbow effect in the middle at times. Almost as if there's water underneath.

Sorry for the necro-post but did you find anything better than the Body Glove? Seems the tempered glass protectors are hit and miss with the G5. I tried 4 and the Body Glove delivered the only relatively acceptable result. I also have a small area with the rainbow or Newton Effect but it only bothers me when the display is asleep/off. Worst is, it seems Body Glove has taken the cheap Chinese one (curved top and black border) that fits the best according to a few international forum members and rebranded it after their first edition failed (not confirmed but seems like a good possibility). I'm using it with the UAG composite G5 case and seems ok, though I have been to scared to remove the case again after installing the protector.

Ah, thanks. I couldn't find anything but tempered glass.
The camera is incredible. I really enjoy the phone but need to see how it stands up to daily use. My main reason for choosing it was the removable battery and camera.
 
The removable battery is a huge plus for me... I no longer have to charge the phone overnight. The battery can last me two days
 
Iv been looking for a decent tempered protector which covers the entire screen but without the black bar at the top like the body glove one I saw , anyone found anything or using a tempered protector currently they can recommend which is available locally ?

Iv got the plastic one on currently but I really don't like it as it does not cover the top curved portion .

Also has anyone got or tried the Spigen LG G5 case which Vodacom are selling ? It's this one :

I had that cover when I had the G5. Was really nice... Only had a plastic screen protector if that's why you're asking.
 
The best tempered glass protector I have found for my G5 locally is the Body Glove. Damn expensive but it works. There are documented variations in the LG G5 screen so you may have a slight Newton rings effect with certain types of light. Mine is only visible under artificial light and really does not bother me.
The G5 is a very underrated phone. Loving mine.

Iv seen two types of full body glove tempered protectors , they look the same except the one has the black borders and black bar at the top whilst the other is all transparent . There is a pretty big price difference as well with the black border one going at R399 and the transparent one R199 . Anyone know if there is any difference other than the border ?

I'm going to go and get one of them this weekend , tired of the plastic one I have on the phone that ends before the curve at the top . I'm using a UAG cover currently which has been pretty nice , but I'm going to go for the Spigen cover rather as I prefer how it looks .

I think the black bordered version (which is curved) covers the whole screen where as the clear version (which is flat) stops at the top curve. I found that the corners of all the flat non-full covering screen protectors that I tried lifted. I think the top curve of the black bordered version is the reason for the insane price. I use it with a UAG case and have had no issues.
 
G4 is basically when i stopped looking forward to a phone upgrade. Epic phone. And I'm almost ready to upgrade and don't even care.
