LG or Huawei?

Which Phone to get?

Hey guys, I need some help deciding on my next device. I have been using Huawei for a number of years and everyone in my household has a Huawei.... However.. looking at the new range I'm not too keen on the changes on the mid to high end range... No 3.5mm jack, headphones are USB-C or you have to use an adaptor and worst of all they either have no card slot or makes use of a proprietary nano memory card (Very Sony Ericsson)

So... Models I am looking at are as follows..

Huawei P20
Huawei 20 Pro
Huawei Mate 20 Pro

LG V40 ThinQ
LG G7 ThinQ

I am leaning towards the G7 as it's slightly cheaper, has a great chipset, Uses MicroSD and comes with a nice bundle.

Any thoughts?
 
What's your budget, what do you mainly use the phone for?
 
Looking in the region of 500-600pm

Use is for everything, from whatsapp to citrix and teamviewer for work. Mostly Clash of clans lmao. But seriously I put my devices through it's paces. Currently using a Huawei P9, almost 2 years old and no issues.
 
My personal choice from the above options would be the mate 20 pro. The lack of expansion isn't an issue for me, and I can't remember when last I used the headphone jack of my phone. Of course, your decision may be completely different. Also, not sure how many mate 20 pro deals there are in your budget. Maybe wait and see what the P30 holds?

Mate 20 pro but it doesn't have Gorilla glass like the P9.

If you leaning towards the LG then I would take the V40

I have the LG G7, spent a week with the V40 last week, have also spent time with the Mate 20, all really great phones, if I was to make a purchase, I'd probably go with the Mate 20, however some of the features on the V40 are really great or maybe I am just an LG fanboy.

It is a hardened glass like Gorilla. It fails only on bending test. How frequent do you sit on your phone? LCD protected by Gorilla glass can also stop working when bending.

Not concerned about bending, more worried about scratches as I have experienced with the P20.

Also, for the price of the phone it should have Gorilla glass or at least a competitor, not simple hardened glass.
