LG V20

I suppose I'm not such a heavy user. Mostly on web.

Install GSam battery monitor. I found Google Hangouts accounted for about 1.2% battery and I haven't used that thing in forever.

Android system and kernel eat most of battery, which is why I wish a proper root would become available.

Comes with 2. They're ok.

I gave up on finding tempered glass. It'll feel weird as it won't cover the whole glass area. It'll trigger my OCD.

Ordered these instead:

TPU and seems to cover full glass.

Waiting for Rhinoshield to come up with protector.

Thanks - I hated the supplied protectors - they scratched easily.

My OCD will also not allow me to have a glass screen protector that does not stick to the screen properly.

OCD, bad fit and sometimes they don't seem to actually work. Someone here dropped their iPhone and it had a tempered glass protector on it. They protector didn't break, but the LCD under it did. Go figure.

The best protector for your phone is a backup and insurance.

My toys are finally arriving!

Cheotech 2m USB-C to USB-A cable. $3.39 incl. shipping. Good sync, works in the QC 3.0 charger, has proper 56KOhm resistor to identify legacy cable. Charges at standard rate thanks to that.

Received dbrand matte black skins yesterday, fitted them last night. Not the best fit since the rear cover skin is too short by about 1mm. I suppose I could have evened it out a bit from top to bottom edges, but still fine. Had some rough edges on the smaller pieces after fitting, but hit it with a hair dryer this evening and stretched and smoothed the vinyl down. Gives a bit of grip in the hand compared to the bare aluminium. Prefer this over the stock case which made the phone feel bigger than it is. Pricey thing @ $19.80 incl. shipping.

The dbrand vinyl is a little thickish so the stock case will not fit over it.

Nilkin case should be here this week. Got it just in case I didn't care much for the dbrand.
Hopefully the full-cover screen protectors arrive this week too. The factory thing doesn't hold up to anything.

Can't go wrong with Spigen. My Nilkin is at the post office, so I'll have to swing by tomorrow morning and pick it up and see if $8 gets one a decent case.

Here's a pic of the skin I installed. Looks rougher in a photo though.

Nillkin "Frosted" case arrived.
Comes with screen protector too.
Slim case, good grip on the back. Open on top and bottom edge so didn't give that bloated feeling. Although some reports says this doesn't protect camera bump, it actually does.

I'll be keeping this one for when my dbrand skin wears out. Can't run the skin and case at the same time.

NILLKIN Frosted Shield PC Case for lg v20

About $7 including registered mail.

I see Samsung has chosen not to comment on the fact that the S7 doesn't even have nougat yet. Used to piss me off no end that Samsung was so slow in delivering security and android updates.

Happy I have moved off Samsung after having 6 in a row. V20 is awesome!:D

Odd, I've had Nougat on my S7 Edge for about 2months now.

A screen protector is not designed to stop a cracked screen, regardless of what the protector is made of. A screen protector - plastic or glass is only there to prevent scratches. If you want to stop a cracked screen, then you need a proper full covered phone cover or thick soft glove that can absorb the shock

LOL Let's see if your V20 will get Android O ;)

I still have mine and I've had zero issues with anything on it. I can't say that for any of my Samsung phones.

Doubt this will get latest android. It's still kernel v3.xx whereas other devices with same android version are running V4 kernels. There have been some updates, but none of them bumped the kennel up.
