LG vs Samsung ?

I have the plasma and it's awesome. Would not take anything else. I tested that Samsung LCD LA40C530 and even though it plays MKVs, the quality is really ****.

I tried out the LA40C650 and it is amazing... Blacks are really black. Contrast and Colour is incredible.

Went to have a look at the LA40C630 and saw the LA40C650... Wow it looks amazing!

I took some SD series (The Big Bang Theory) to play, was very impressed with the SD upscaling.

Question: Switched off MotionPlus and played some Dexter HD, I found some scenes played fast/too smooth... Why? or is it just my eyes?

Was it really R7999? Still trying to work that one out, since it's usually R10,000+.

Both are 6 Series so should use the same panels, btw. 650 is usually just a few more connections and different cosmetics.

My 42" LG plasma is now 4 years old and some heavy "glittering" happening. Santa is getting me a 32" for bedroom and it aint gonna be an LG.
Apparently 'old' LG plasmas have this problem. Not sure about LCD's

I think old plasmas in general have that problem, regardless of brand.

But I'm sure she treated you well over the years, especially for TV/sport (if you watch). :)

When you upgrade it (I'm assuming she's in the lounge, and that your bedroom has a different TV), look no further than the Sammy 42" plasma mentioned in this thread.

Wanted to thank everyone for their input in helping me make this decision.

Decided to go with the Samsung LA40C650. :) (the Unpacking to follow)

Please confirm price as per my post above.

Btw, to use image tage, your link needs to end in .jpg - a direct link to the pic. :)

Apologize PostmanPot... Govern Mani had a Special on R7599 for the Samsung LA40C650 with a 2yr Guarantee. Blew DION Wired out of the water (R7999 for the C630)

There she is in the back of my Tucson ready for the trip home.
