Liberty Stash App

Finally making some progress with FNB. Testing is happening daily with the bank. Should have some good news soon!

The new annual contribution limit from today (as specified in the Budget) is R33 000.

Great question, Eti. We're not making any money on Stash in its current form but have plans to in non-traditional, non-'financial services' ways in the future. Some really cool features coming in February which will make you question (we hope) what an investment should be.

Stash has no fees too, so it's worth thinking about. :) Our February release is going to have two great features which we're really excited about.
OK, so where are the features? Also will there ever be the ability to manually transfer money into my Stash account?

They're coming in next week's release. We pushed them out a bit. Next week's release will also let you Stash your own money.

Also, Stash now supports FNB :-) and DiscoveryCard, and Investec, and RMB

Well done! Finally, now I can at last have a look at this app.

Hey

How about an Apple Application!

Come now, its been months!

We chose Android first because that's where the largest chunk of the market is in SA. Vodacom's smartphone stats show a 9:1 Android:Apple ratio. We're planning on Apple, though.

How are the stats for people that are interested in TFSA's? Or for people that have R33k a year to invest?
Still 9:1?

I think its been hinted that the target market is not those that have 33k a year to invest. I mean.. why would you try to save 33k through hundreds of micro-transactions if you could just set up a monthly payment. It's to get those who don't save to start.

Ah, ok. That makes sense.

Pity, because they are claiming to have a fund that has a TER of 0%, an Index Tracking Error of 0% and a Tracking Difference of 0. I have never heard of that being offered and would put money into that in a heartbeat.

Ditto. Have an iPhone, will pay money!

There's no tracking error and zero fees. Liberty is able to offer zero tracking error because it can use its balance sheet (unlike unit trusts which can't).

Yep! Stash is for the people who don't invest because they think investing isn't for them -- either because they think they don't have enough money, enough time, or enough knowledge.

There's more than enough competition in the commoditised TFSA space. We're aiming for a different customer with a different product :)
