How long after your license disk expired do you have time to get the new one? I received my renewal notice but there is no way I will be able to get it before the end of the month.

Oh, just another question...

I think I saw you can pay them via EFT. Do they post your new one to you then? What if it gets lost?

there is no time limit...you can even renew a few months after it expired....only thing is if your in an accident insurance will not pay...
also a small penalty per month 30-50 bucks...or something like that.

i did mine through www.paycity.co.za what a pleasure!

Oh cool, thanks. I have registered with them. Sorts out my problem.

You sure they are reliable though? You definitely got your renewal within 7 working days?

Yup, be more afraid of insurance companies than the law.

Years ago I was involved in an accident (my fault) and the other driver did not have a valid licence disk on his window. His insurance did not pay out (but thank goodness no damage to the car I was driving) and he tried to sue me with no success.

Major Post offices now do disk renewals, often quicker and easier than License departments.
