I'm looking to get a new battery for a portable power box I take with on camping to power a 12v fridge, currently got a SecuriProd 50ah, want to upgrade to 100Ah. Fridge chows 22ah in 24 hours

Don't want to spend over R5000.
Some of the cheaper ones like Ingle have some bad reviews so don't want to go super cheap, rather want a half decent one

No need for bluetooth, got a shunt with bluetooth in the box. Are these Geewiz batteries ok?

Or

Should be fine, never had any problems with their branded stuff. They also usually have good warranty support as well.

Thanks, yeah will probably buy one of those then. Just wondering if I should wait till black friday or just get one now haha. Not sure if they will be cheaper then, probably not.

I checked the specs some time ago, don't look very good, can't recall if it was the cycles or what. I ended up going for the black one from Geewiz, came looking like a 50Ah so I was also sceptical, but so far so good.
IMHO, cycles are academic anyway.

Yeah might go with the black one as well. I will only use it once a month maybe, so not really bothered by the amount of cycles. My current 50ah one is rated for 3500 and I will never in my lifetime reach that. If I look at my AC and MPPT chargers, it's been charged 34 times over 2 years, and never gone below 45%. I'm ok if it lasts 2 - 4 years.

I want the blue one more to fit in with the Victron stuff but that is not important. Not going to see the battery in the box in any case

Sorry, didn't take note of brand. They're all the same imho. Links to the reviews?
I'll go find them, on takealot there are a few, and on a few other forums. Seems they don't give 100ah as people complain they don't last as long as their previous batteries

Do peolle even know how to measure, and compensate for losses

Some inverters have really crappy efficiency

Also planning on buying one of these geewiz batteries.Glad to find some info on them. What is the best inverter to pair with them?

I ordered the battery, should be here tomorrow. For now it will just go into my camp battery box to power a 12v fridge, lights and maybe charge a phone. If load shedding comes back I'll buy a Victron inverter, but not a big one, I only need to power a laptop and screen, so will probably get their 12/500 one.

i don't think load shedding is returning
not a glass half full guy

i think the price of electricity is already bad enough to incetivise solar
and anybody that has solar (done properly) just want to expand to cover the bit they still buy from eskom

so more and more will install solar, it is getting to the point where you can't afford not to
which will reduce demand further, thus no shedding , nothing to do with eskom performance imo

I rent so can't install any big setup here where I am. No place for solar panels either so not even a small solar setup. Will probably go solar if I have my own place just to get away from eskom prices

Edit: I was also offered a inverter and hubble 100ah battery, for free, so can always use that as well if it returns, but also think we are in the clear for now

Not all lithium batteries are the same quality, you pay top prices for good quality lithium, then you get cheap lithium.
Same as cars, just look at those rusty Tata vehicles that @epah sells at We Buy Cars. Rubbish metal
