What would be the best lightweight distro for 1st gen quad core 4gig ram. Want to use it for a media centre?

Reign - if Kodi then OpenElec. If Plex then anything really but I'd probably stick with a light weight Ubuntu or Debian derivative for ease of use. I'd probably look at Puppy as its probably one of the lightest in this class.
