Does anyone maybe know what kind of lights a person can use for a tv studio (mostly for two person interviews)

We currently have those "security" type lights with white boards shining the light but we still have heavy shadows and uneven lighting, so we want to go a bit more "pro".

Can you maybe send me in a direction of someone who can help me or a forum i could goto? I did try looking and saw red head lights are good but i have no idea what is what?

hope someone can help?

Redheads are oldskool, they get warm easily, use lots of power and their bulbs dont last long. If you want to do it right, try investing in new LED or flurocent lighting kits.

Email these guys - sales@broadcastlighting.co.za they are very knowledgeable and they work in the industry everyday so they will know exactly what you need.

Make up a wall of 4 x 4 (or 6 x 6, depending on your budget) 18W (~80W tungsten bulb) daylight color CFL bulbs on 2cm thick and square (approx 60cm) in width compressed hardboard. Try to keep the distance between the lights not more than 4cm to keep the lighting even. Plan it carefully so you can add a hinge system on the back side. Be careful with the wiring as you will have to supply enough current for 16 bulbs (or 36) i.e. get an electrician to do this... You will prob need to make a stand for this as it will be quite heavy. 1.5cm square steel tubing should do the job. A thickish cotton cover can be built as a front softbox as well. Barn doors can be made out of thick cardboard and covered with aluminium foil for reflectance. You can use 1cm^2 wood rods for this. Make sure you leave a large vent hole, even though your are using CFLs a large number will still get hot...

Hmmmmm i think i might just build this for myself :D :D
