Lightroom alternatives?

I'm sure someone here can help with sourcing a code or maybe a physical copy (if those exist) .

Can maybe do a trial first.
lol - physical copy? What is this - the '00s? :D

Thinking about it now I can't remember the last machine I had with a cd/dvd drive.

Good idea about the trial.

I mean, you're the one forgetting torrents are thing. At least just to test an old version then figure things out from there.

Did I?

Ok - Darktable is pretty ugly. Trying On1 next.

EDIT: perhaps not at this time.

On1 is looking pretty good. Seems to be ticking the right boxes. It's a little buggy though.

After a head slap moment there's something else that is also looking good, DPP. Probably the most best raw conversion available if you shoot canon.

For a few years now I'm using Exposure x6 (I started with version 5).
Not a professional but it ticks all the boxes, raw conversion is ok, non destructive.

Bought On1 on a Black Friday special using the promo code DOORBUSTER - prices vary depending on the country your from so use a VPN and shop around. I got mine for $69.

And Apple’s default Photos app doesn’t allow the bulk adjustments?

Not even with Automator?

****

Don’t even know if it does RAW, it’s been many years since I worked with those, really just wondering as it used to have pretty good bulk features.

Apart from being overly simplistic, Photos.app doesn't play nicely with referenced libraries.

Right now I've settled on PhotoMechanic as my DAM, Affinity Photo as my jpg editor, and On1 handles raw conversion and editing.

Bit of a mix to get a simple job done, but Adobe has really gone and shot themselves in the foot all round.

And their support is SHOCKING for the leader of the industry. Really one of those resting on their laurels cases and I hope they get ****ed for it.

With what I need to do I'm not sure Adobe would be up to the job alone, so replacing Aperture was always going to be a pain. That said I don't want any part of their subscription model.

Yeah they purposely break it out into more products so they can justify you taking the bigger packages even though you only need one little extra feature.

Like your case you’d need Bridge, Lightroom and Photoshop to get it all done and probably some other kak.

But I do see that Bridge is now “free” so I wonder if that would help you in any way.

Thanks. I'll give Bridge a once over - might find a use for it. :)

I really didn't have the patience for that app. I've still got it so maybe I'll tinker some more when I have the time.
Yeah, I see in the review they mentioned that it is a bit unstable at times.
