Hi Guys,

here is my situation, I am currently on the Mweb Uncapped 4096 option and using a telkom mega 200 router, my pc is connected directly through the ethernet port and my 2 brothers leech of my connection, this is all fine and well except that they end up using all the bandwith available and my speeds degrade

are there any ways quality of service, or a speed quota that can be applied to the wifi connection on this router??

they connect via wifi on their laptops and have their own vodacom connect cards!!

i dont mind them using the connection just want to limit their speed to 384kbps speeds :D

Go into the router's web admin

Check if you can choose which Wifi standard your access point should use. Use 802.11b
Check if you can select the speed, 802.11b supports speeds as low as 1Mbps.

That would be your best bet me thinks.

This would be the perfect time for someone in the know to explain this whole QOS ingress egress thing to us! I've tried to set it up quite a few times and got it to work - kinda. Even managed to "block" myself out of the router using this once. :D

Thanks Guys, are there any sort of programs that i could use that maybe could streamline this? dnt wanna use a proxy server as this will be dependant on when my pc is on etc.

Strange enough the mega 105 allows to apply QoS based on IP's yet the Mega 200 range doesnt?? wtf
