Hi.
I currently do not have an ADSL line, and have placed an order for one from telkom in March this year.
As you can see, about 7 months have passed and still no word from Telkom.

Is there any other service providers who offer ADSL line installation?

Thanks.

We moved house and applied for a line transfer for ADSL and voice, we waited around 8 months, so good luck!

It could be that there are no ports in the area. If need be they need to add more and that process could take up to a year. i waited 9 months for a line at my old home. but fortunately at my current place there were several ports available and it took a week to connect. Keep calling them and asking for updates.

Yes. Thats the problem Telkom informed me about. There are no available ports in my area. Is this problem restricted to Telkom? Could another service provider have open ports in my area?
Forgive me for my lack of knowledge about ADSL.

no just means you need wait till someone cancel there adsl then you can get adsl, try applying for another speed as well see if it works, sometimes magically it opens if you say you want a 4mb line and not a 384k

This is what the LLU debate is all about... currently only Telkom have DSLAMs that are required to provide ADSL services.
