Hi

There are not many recent experiances with line migrations so just putting this there for anyone who searches in future.

I put in notice to Afrihost that I wanted to migrate my vdsl line back to telkom on the 22nd Feb. On 1st march at 2am in the morning they put through the request to telkom, they would not send the request early because I had already paid for the month.

Following up on when my line would go into the pool, it took a total of 26 hours to go from notice to into pool. I got a notification from telkom and afrihost. I did not lose connection.

Took me about 15 minute phone call to signup to the telkom package I wanted.

TLDR:

26 Hours from ISP request sent to telkom
No line downtime.
Few minutes to get back into telkom after requesting it.

Hope this helps someone searching for information in the future.

Thanks @KinsZA.
I've requested a cancellation from MWEB at the end of this month. With all the holidays I hope mine would be as seamless as yours.

You mentioned your line was not down, did you still have connectivity on the Afrihost account or did you have to switch to a pre-paid account until Telkom activated the new package?

Thank you,

My experience unfortunately not the same. ISP line was moved back on 31/5 to Telkom. Ordered a Telkom service over the weekend. Was phoned by orders on Monday, order still in progress.

Yesterday Telkom 'suspended' the ADSL line and this morning lady at 10213 tells me it can take 10 to 21 days for new order.

Anyone know who I should contact to get the line unsuspended?
