Emm first of all I honestly don't know what to do so I came here where people know a thing or two , not sure its even related to this forum.

So about a week before we moved to a new house and the walls were re-painted. Beginning of this week I sorted a line payment with telkom and got data etc. You know the drill.
Took out the modem from my room , and with a HUGE wtf feeling ,realized that all the phone ports were ripped out the wall and filled up with crack filler and I don't now what to do now.

HELP please!

You need to be a bit more specific.
The line was installed and working from TELKOM ADSL ??
Now the jack where the MODEM is supposed to be plugged in is polly fillered up ?? :erm:
If that is the case dig the polly filla out and put a new jack on and connect MODEM.
Normally blue and white wires.

Line from telkom (of course) and data from another ISP (test run).
And yea , sadly the jack was ripped with no mercy.

Is the process of connecting a new jack is complicated?
I had few other ports scattered around the house , not sure where.

You need to find the wire that was feeding the jack and reattach same to a new jack ,I think you can get the jacks at game or makro not sure. only 2 wires to attach.

Now I have to bust my perfectly painted wall.what don't I do for internet :D

Just ask Telkom to lay a new cable, on top of your already plastered wall. They will charge you for it, but it will be neater and cheaper then ripping out the old cable. While they're at it, I'd ask Telkom to run a new cable from the street pole one time, so that you know you have good quality brand new copper in place. A nice way to start off in a new house.

Actually sounds better than breaking my wall.
Any idea of the cost? The line is already there.

Name and shame if they are a company.

Or were they just side-of-the-road painters...

It was a specialized builder's crew which we got to do some serious renovations. Don't know where he got the from.

I'm not too sure of the costs, but if you phone Telkom, I'm sure they'll be able to tell you. Also, be nice to the technician that comes out, and he will (hopefully) reciprocate. Offer hime some coke and biscuits, or whatever. Usually they won't accept it, but its the thought that counts. It's always worked for me. The worst thing for these guys is to get rude, arrogant customers, who shout at them and blame them for Telkom's problems. They're just technicians, doing what they've been asked to do.

Exactly.

I had a Telkom techy come out to my new place - he ran a new cable from the pole on the street as he said old one didn't look good. Also drilled a hole in the wall and did his best - offered him lunch / drink etc. So, again, no point moaning at them - they're there to do their side of the job.
