So been using 3G for the past 7 years or so due to being in an outlying area and not being able to get adsl.
Recently moved into a house and got myself a 4 meg ADSL line and using Afrihost as an ISP, so it seems the internet works ok during most times, and then all of a sudden it intermittently cuts out, see the light on the modem flashing and then connection restores, on one night it must have done this about 8 times.
I have contacted Afrihost and they have said the problem is not on their side, a telkom technician has come 3 times and tested the lines and said there is no noise on the lines and that the lines are fine.
I even purchased a new router, and yet every now and again the connection gets dropped and then restores after a few seconds, then it happens again.
Anybody know what the problem could be? firmware upgrade on the modem? would this help?
