Hi there

I have just purchased a Smart Tv and I can view You Tube etc on the TV but when i load any of the videos, it starts to buffer and I have a start/stop effect happening.

I have 2 Meg line thru Telkom. I have checked my line speed and it is pretty steady (1.73Mbps)

What do I do to overcome this? Upgrade to 4 or 10 Meg line?

Thoughts? Advice?

Does Youtube have settings somewhere, it's more than likely trying to play 720P or even 1080P.

Looked for that. Cant change the quality settings. Only has one setting "HD" which could be either of those. The quality is good..............when it plays!!!! lol

When i was on 2 meg the line used to buffer on YouTube ,now on 4 meg hardly ever buffering while watching YouTube.

I run on 10meg line with zero buffer issues irregardless of video quality

I even stream 3D 1080p movies over youtube without any buffering, quality is amazing!

PS.... use Afrihost capped account since most uncapped accounts gets shaped ****less.

My Smart TV could hardly play videos on telkoms home uncapped 4Mb account... changed to Afrihost.. now I can stream without buffering and browse or skype call at same time... I'm just saying...Telkom Uncapped accounts are dangerous! Try the afrihost free 1Gb account to make sure its not the ISP first...

Will try that. Thanks Krono9. Am considering getting a 2meg Uncapped business account.

Update your TV firmware this should resolve the issue you are experiencing. I also had buffering issues but upon updating the firmware on the television, everything was stable and operational again :)

Do the 4meg upgrade.
