LinkedIn advertising questioned

Social networking site LinkedIn says it will alter an advertising technique, following criticism and questions in the Netherlands about whether it violated privacy laws.

It is also freaking annoying how whe someone joins LinkedIn, it gives them the option to e-mail their whole address book. This should be illegal in my mind. I have received so much spam from people who seem to have e-mailed me once in my life, and now I'm in their address book. Better yet, if you don't respond to the first invite, them e-mail you again and again reminding you.
