I bought and installed a Linksys WAG120N ADSL modem/router for a client and it works great except for one thing:

I have allowed outside access on port 8080 for me to remotely manage it, but when I access the administration page from the Internet, all it shows me is a blank page with some weird unknown characters at the top of it.

It works fine when accessed locally and it is running the latest firmware.

Anyone have an idea what is going on here?

Just found the solution if someone else has this same modem:

You have to use https and not http when accessing the page remotely.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
Been pulling my hair out trying to find a solution!

It's weird that firefox finds it an "Untrusted Connection" though...

But works like a charm
