Hey Guys

I recently got a linksys WAG320n router because my old one got struck by lightning again! The devise looks awesome on paper as it has both 2.4 and 5Ghz Wireless Radio Band,1gbps LAN,Wirless N and a USB port of a storage devise.

Ever since I have had it Every week or so the Wirless just drops and no matter what wont go back up, and then an hour later it just works again. The Wired part of the network does not ever drop.

I have tried:
Turning it on and off again :D
Resetting the devise/putting it back to factory default.
Upgrading the firmware
Changing Wireless Radio Band to 2.4GHs only.
Changing mode from B/G/N to only G.
Changing the channel between the 20MHz standard channel to 40MHz Wide channel.
Changing the wireless channel frequency.
Changing the security type.

None of this has helped,I can see the router on the devises trying to connect(iphone, ipad, laptops) but when clicking on the router it wont be able to connect.

What else can I try? I did not have this problem with my other wireless router which Was in the exact same place so I cant see how that could be causing it however I did buy a skype VOIP phone which does not need a PC,could the signal of that devise be messing with my WIFI?

Thats all I can think of,I would of taken it back already but then I will be without internet for a few days while they replace the devise because the place I bought it from says they cant swap it out on the spot (FAIL) should of just bought it from Incredible connection :P

Any Help or comments will be appreciated as usual :)

Personally I don't know a huge deal about wi-fi. But I've had the same router for months and have not noticed this ever.

What I find strange is you say restarting router does not help, which could mean that it's your computer. Could also just be a faulty router, does the same thing happen on your skype phone?

PS: I found the 5Ghz range does not work good or at all with some devices like my iPod touch.

and what incredible corruption have you seen selling the cisco linksys range, took me ages to find a local supplier :(

Hopefully somebody else has a better idea.

They are not very good routers. Although I haven't had a problem like yours, I have one and have been quite disappointed with the wireless range. My old WRT54GL is vastly superior. You could send a query to this forum:

or better still return it and exchange it for a better model like I should have done.
