Guys I currently have the following. (The famous restart PC for no reason)

Amd Dual Core 3800+ @ 2GhZ
Gigabyte Board
4 GB DDR2-800Ram
Geforce 8500GT (512MB)
Audigy Soundcard
2x 250GB Sata Harddrives
1 IDE DVD Writer
Windows Vista x64 and Linobuntu Version 2 (Pre alpha) x64

However by the end of January I am going to have the following:

Intel Core2duo E6750 @ 2.6GhZ
Intel DG33BU Buffalo Creek All-In-One Motherboard - Socket 775
4 GB DDR2-800Ram
Geforce 8800GT
Audigy Soundcard
2x 250GB Sata Harddrives
1 Sata DVD Writer
Windows 7 x64 and Linobuntu Version 2 x64
19Inch LCD Monitor with touch screen

What do you all think?

Sir, can ye spare any parts fo the poor? :D
(Let me know if that didn't sound like an old midieval beggar)

I'm sure a lot of people are gonna tell you that Intel mobo is crap... If you're not OCing it's not really not necessary to have a fancy mobo.

Why touch screen tho?

What do you need the touchscreen for? Unless you're a graphic designer or something it seems like a lot of money for something with very little practicality.

The rest seems nice but not a huge overhaul. If you're really looking to upgrade for a dramatic difference rather get a 9800GTX/4850 graphics card and perhaps an e8XXX CPU. Eh, but you can't go much wrong with those components. Looks good.

You're going to want the E8400/E8500 for that.... a lot faster but not that much more expensive. I paid R1300 for the E8400...
But you're going to pay out of your arse for that touch screen

1) I am not planning to overclock the Mobo. Thus I do not need a fancy board
2) I am getting the CPU and Mobo at a very good price.
3) I am still debating if to get a touch screen or not. (I do need a touch screen for the media center PC though)

However with the left over parts I am planning to build a media center PC.

Oh also, get the DragonTail Peak motherboard if you want an Intel Motherboard... or the TopsField for a P43 chipset. Thje Buffalo doesn't seem to be on the market anymore.

:D Will it be all that it promises to be? I've heard plenty of promises on software the last year (*No pun intended towards EA*)...

I am sure it will be, however at the end of the day I am still gonna setup a media center PC. Thus having a 15inch touch lcd for it in the lounge will look very nice.

At most that would cost me R2200

Lino, i'm gonna create a special port just for you, with touch screen capabilities.

however, I'm thinking of making it "iPhone-like" - so, with that in mind, to have it scroll at high speed and high FPS and not be sluggish, please consider a 10" or so touch screen.
(the lower resolution it runs, the faster.)

Yay thanks dude.

I'll do my best to get a 10 inch touch screen. However I do not know where to get them:confused:

But are you going to be happy doing your computing on a 15 inch lcd? Or is this just an adjunct monitor and you're going to be keeping your regular one to use as the primary?

This is a monitor to be in the lounge and run on the media center PC.
