Linux Driver for Sentech USB Modem

I downloaded the Linux driver from www.unreal.co.za done by Rodent, but have not succeeded in getting it to work.

Linux installation is Gentoo with kernel 2.6

I compiled the driver into the kernel and the modem is correctly recognised and attached as ttyIPW0 when plugged into a USB port (as per the system log).

When I run pppd, nothing happens, the system returns immediately to the prompt. None of the text strings from the SAY commands from the chat script file executes or displays on the screen.

Any ideas?

check the Maj/Minor Nums on /dev/ttyIPW... also make sure you see your serial number when attaching it in dmesg/logs ...

im using it and it works like a charm using devfs i dont have these headaches ...
