Hi,

Does anyone have a good instructions on how to deploy a linux file server , access must controller via windows AD.

thanks,Bar1

Haven't done that in years but millions of guides all over the net on how to implement that

Can be done with Samba 4 - check howtoforge for 100's of tutorials.

If it's a pure file server just use FreeNas - AD integration is a breeze.

struggling to find proper guide.
let me try freenas.

even though i have done it before, i am struggling. with freenas as well.

After adding the share, and adding freenas to AD. where can i specify the AD users in freenas?

On the AD PDC

Add the users as normally and set permissions etc, same as on a Windoze box.

When they want to access the FreeNAS box, their login credentials will be authenticated against those on the PDC
